Zion

My last keeper puppy from my heart dog. Zion has been consistent from the very beginning. Extremely sweet, very cuddly, determined, go with the flow, independent yet engagement driven, a lover of all people and dogs. From a very young age, I was so intrigued by how she explored her world. She reminds me of a perfect split between Arya and Rainier. The sweet and cuddly, go with the flow nature of mama Arya, but the “let’s do this sh*t” attitude of Rainier - with dare I say even more intensity and focus at this age.

She learns new tricks on a dime, loves to explore - we just know she’s going to be a fantastic little hiker, loves the water and was one of the pups to jump off the ramp to get to me, and is overall just easy with a great off switch. She has fantastic tug & food drive, and is obsessed with frisbee. She’s a great mix of think and do, and as much as I find she reminds me of my two girls, she definitely is a little Zavi copy, which makes me so happy.

Being my last keeper from Arya, I wanted her name to start with the letter Z, given Arya’s name starts with an A and as an ode to Zavi. When we took our roadtrip out west two years ago, my breath was absolutely taken away by Zion National Park. I don’t think I’ve ever seen something as beautiful, stoic, and diverse as the landscape within that park - so after some back and fourth, it was clear Pika’s new name would be Zion. As for her registered name, Sinawava is the coyote spirit that watches over the park, which only felt fitting.

Zion will predominantly be my agility prospect, but we’re also going to give HRD (human remains detection) a go, and if she takes to it, we’ll be doing that instead of my typical competition based scent sports. I can’t wait to see all of the adventures we’ll go on!
